The night before he was executed he wrote a note to the jailer’s daughter who took care of him and whom he loved..that note wrote ” “vestri Valentine”…your valentine”..
Once upon a time there was a Roman Emperor, called Claudius II. He wanted to have a bigger, stronger army and a good soldier must not have a lover or family that would prevent him from courageous fights that lead to victory but also death.
So Cladius II said “pubes mos subsisto singulus” that meant young men will remain single. And there was a martyr who broke the rule and and wed the single men. His name was Valentine. When Claudius learn about this, he ordered an execution of Valentine…The night before he was executed he wrote a note to the jailer’s daughter who took care of him and whom he loved..that note wrote ” “vestri Valentine”…your valentine”..
So for the sake of today, 14th of February, embrace and kiss your valentines like this is your last moment together.
