Once upon a time there was a Roman Emperor, called Claudius II. He wanted to have a bigger, stronger army and a good soldier must not have a lover or family that would prevent him from courageous fights that lead to victory but also death.
So Cladius II said “pubes mos subsisto singulus” that meant young men will remain single. And there was a martyr who broke the rule and and wed the single men. His name was Valentine.
